Get the Look with Clinique Chubby Stick: Runway Beauties

If you’re looking for an easy daytime look you might forget that the runway can serve as the perfect inspiration. Forget dip-dyed mohawks and glittery eyebrows, a fresh-faced look such as this one from Proenza Schouler is perfect for work or play. To get this look, you want to make your skin is as flawless as possible, so start by blending an illuminating primer well into the skin using smooth outward motions. Next, with a stippling or buffing brush, apply a sheer foundation, blending carefully so that the product is really worked into the skin and you don’t see a layer of makeup. Remember to also blend it across the eyelid as you’ll want an even base.

One of the main features of this look is the brows. Using a powder or very soft pencil, fill in your brows following the natural shape. Don’t add too much of an arch as you want to look natural and not overly put together. The rest of the eye can be left completely bare. If you’re addicted to mascara, like so many women are, try curling your lashes and applying a coat of clear mascara to get added lift without the color. Apply a matte bronzer or warm beige blush just under the cheekbones for a subtle contour and to add a bit of color to the cheek.

Lastly, you want a sheer wash of color that will be easy to reapply all day as well as give your lips that healthy, moisturized look. Use Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Woppin Watermelon or Super Strawberry $15 to get a subtle flush of color that looks like it could almost be your natural lip. If you want a lighter lip, opt for Woppin Watermelon as it delivers a slightly brighter tone but use Super Strawberry if you want the authentic rosy flush from the runway. They are easy to apply and deliver just a wash of color, making them perfect for this fresh daytime look.

The winter months can wreak havoc on your face. Inclement weather paired with harsh indoor heating can not only affect your skin but your makeup, too. Many women try to pile on the makeup during the winter months but sometimes it’s best just to highlight your skin and let your natural beauty shine. This look from Oscar de la Renta does just that. It’s warm and fresh but not too simple.

To start, apply a brightening primer in an outward motion across the face and down the neck. You want to restore as much brightness and luminosity to the skin as possible. Next, apply a dewy finish foundation or tinted moisturizer and concealer to any blemishes or areas of pigmentation that you have. Skip the powder unless you have very oily skin. Fill in your brows with a powder or very soft pencil and be sure to blend fully. A warm taupe or beige eyeshadow applied across the lid and under the lashline gives a uniform color and adds depth to the socket. Apply a cream or liquid highlighter with a foundation brush to the tops of your cheeks, up your temples, and onto the top of your forehead. Be sure to blend the highlighter well as you want your skin to look naturally glowing rather than artificially enhanced.

Finish off with Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Mega Melon or Whole Lotta Honey $15. These warm neutral tones work perfectly with the clean, fresh looking skin. Stick lip balms or lipsticks can often be a hassle because of the sharpening issue, but you don’t need to worry about that with the Chubby Sticks as they twist up, making reapplication very simple.
