The Mad Men actress has been working with the ocean conservation group since 2009, and last night was the latest in her series of appearances to raise awareness for the organization. “I’m here primarily because of my love of sharks. It’s been a passion of mine for a long time,” she said in her remarks during the screening.
But the night wasn’t all business: Jones took a moment before the screening to talk about her style sensibility.
“Good shoes and a bag. Jeans. It changes daily. A white men’s shirt. Sometimes I like to do something more avant-garde, maybe like tonight. And other times, just sweats.”
We had some more questions for her (like, when-oh-when is Betty Draper coming back to Mad Men?) but a pair of belligerent papparazzi disrupted press interviews.
“I’m on a public street you stupid little…bloggers or whatever,” said the lady photographer when someone asked them to move. A secruity guard came over and placed his hand over her camera lens to block her shots.
“Call the cops,” her partner yelled as she wailed nearby. “Why are you touching a woman like that? Don’t touch a woman like that. It’s inappropriate!”
By this point, no one was paying any attention to January Jones. When we looked back, she had fled the scene.
