“Kirsten is at the Met Gala dressed like Santa Claus!” casaanova warned before the photos rolled in.
“I don’t like it,” wild roses posted. “She looks like a long-lost Downton Abbey extra (I like the fashion on that show, but don’t want to something that looks like a costume on the red carpet),” she added. In Kirsten’s defense, it is the Costume Institute Gala.
Fincher praised the ensemble, saying: “Love, love, love Kirsten! This is how a modern Schiaparelli woman looks.”
Saann was also a fan: “The more I see of this the more I like it. It’s perfectly styled and looks straight out of a film,” she wrote.
LolaSvelt also came to Kirsten’s defense. “I get the feeling she was in character. The way she was posing – it just reminded me of Katharine Hepburn. I don’t see Santa Claus at all,” she laughed.
A whiff of Santa Claus is tough to deny, but Kirsten always thinks about her look for the Met Gala and works to dress appropriately for the theme. While some attendees tend to treat the occasion like any other red carpet event, Kirsten embraces the costume aspect and really goes for it. Whether you like the ensemble or not, you have to admire her dedication and follow through.
