Double-Take #1: Head to Toe Lace
It seems that three a fashion designer had an ‘a-ha! moment’ recently when they came up with the brilliant idea of a lace jumpsuit with a nude underlay… except that that also happened to two other designers. Naomi Watts, Sophia Bush and Hailee Steinfeld all did the H2T lace look, with only subtle differences: Watts’ Stella McCartney jumpsuit that she wore to the designer’s unveiling of her Spring 2013 collection featured a one-shoulder top and pants with a little more volume, and Bush’s Catherine Malandrino pieces at the celebration of the Beverly Hilton’s new pool had a peplum top and fitted trousers, while at CinemaCon Steinfeld styled her Valentino suit featuring oversized sleeves with gold accessories. Which lacy look does it for you?
Double-Take #2: Frothy Mullet Dresses
Heidi Klum‘s and Rachel Bilson’s recent red carpet appearances had more mullets and tulle than a Kentucky wedding. The supermodel wore her gold-edged Marchesa dress to the amfAR Gala during Cannes with statement turquoise earrings and hair pulled back. Bilson wore her fluffy tie-dyed Chanel number to the designer’s benefit dinner for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Ocean Initiative with loose, romantic hair and no accessories. Both stepped out in delicate silver sandals—but whose frothy dress had you on cloud nine?
Double-Take #3: Spiderweb Mesh
Filming for Amazing Spider-Man 2 is officially on, but Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lopez got our Spidey senses tingling in matching spiderweb mesh tops. We don’t often think of these two stars as having overlapping style, but Chastain’s Gucci dress with a plunging mesh V in cobwebby lace at the Chime for Change event looked just like the bra-baring mesh peeking out of a leather top and skirt that Lopez wore while leaving the Dorchester Hotel in London. Whose look has more bite?
