Is there anyone hotter right now than Pharrell Williams? The producer’s been churning out hits for decades – he’s responsible for the bulk of our favorite tunes from the 90s and aughts: Jay Z’s “I Just Wanna Love You (Give it to Me),” Britney Spears’ “Slave 4u,” Gwen Stfani’s “Hollaback Girl” – but ever since he released “Happy,” the guy’s been all over the place. In addition to making music, he’s also been designing for a while. His Billionaire Boys’ club streetwear line is over a decade old. But now that his star has risen to unprecedented heights, Williams is finding himself dabbling in more projects. Collaborations with Moncler, Uniqlo and Comme des Garçons have been filling his plate, but last night, the focus was on his G-Star RAW for the Oceans line, an environmentally-friendly range of denim made in collaboration with Williams’ Bionic Yarn company. Bionic Yarn creates fabrics made from plastic recycled bottles, and G-Star RAW incorporated the textile into the denim they put out for this season.

Williams fêted his collection with a presentation and an after party yesterday evening at 23 Wall Street – an expansive space set up with two bars and a ginormous dance floor. To the front of the venue, the collection was displayed. There were jeans, jumpsuits, jackets and more, mostly in dark wash denim, patterned with the RAW for the oceans octopus, as well as a muscle T-shirt and a sweatshirt reading “Happy Oceans, Happy Life.” We were particularly fond of one romper in a deep denim wash, decorated with a lighter blue star pattern.
Williams himself mad a quick appearance (in a very becoming royal blue topper) before leaving the event entirely. Joe Jonas, Adrian Grenier and Hanelli Mustaparta also came out to support. Guests hung back sipping cocktails in the very misty space. It was very hard to see, thanks to the artificial smoke and moody blue lighting. One photographer took the hazy environment as an excuse to light up a blunt. We spied him by the dance floor casually burning one down before snapping photos of a few revelers shaking their tail feathers.
