Could John Galliano soon have a new job? According to WWD, folks have been buzzing about a deal between the designer and President of OTB, Renzo Rosso. Rosso has been very vocal in his support of Galliano, saying, “Who wouldn’t like to work with him? If he ever got back his name, I would be the first to produce his collections.” OTB is the parent company of such brands as Diesel, Maison Martin Margiela, Marni and Viktor&Rolf.
Of course, people took that to mean Rosso was maybe in talks with the designer, perhaps to discuss a role at Maison Martin Margiela. Today, at the Just Cavalli show, Rosso denied any such dealings, but as we know, denial isn’t always the definitive last word in the world of fashion, especially when it comes to John Galliano. Remember when his publicist denied rumors that the designer would appear on Charlie Rose?
Though only time will tell whether or not it will actually happen, Galliano for Margiela does sound pretty fabulous.
