Pretty much everyone has been talking about the mystery woman at ELLE‘s Women in Hollywood event this weekend who’s been going around saying she’s Renée Zellweger, though she doesn’t look anything like the actress we remember from Bridget Jones’s Diary. There has been much speculation as to what Renée has been doing lately to account for her new look, but don’t think the actress is mad that people are talking. In fact, she says she’s pretty thrilled about it.
Renée addressed her appearance in an interview with People. “I’m glad folks think I look different!” she told the mag. The actress explained her new look, which she says isn’t because of plastic surgery. She decided to discuss the matter because “it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door.” Right. So, what gives Renée? The actress uses the ol’ “taking better care of myself” defense to explain the apparent change in her face’s entire bone structure. “For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
Renée adds, “I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself.”
Who knew a little R&R could have such a drastic effect on your appearance?
