You voted Ben Allen best male model newcomer in this year’s Tiffies, and if his 2014 is any indication, he’ll soon be cementing his place in the male model hall of fame. The Londoner isn’t even out of his teens, but he’s already known for his moody scowl and mysterious vibe. Absolutely in-demand on the runway (he’s walked for Philipp Plein, Carven and Phillip Lim to name just a few), he’s also getting plenty of ad work (COS, Neil Barrett, etc.).
When asked about the recognition, here’s what Ben had to say: “I’m thrilled to have been voted the Best Male Model Newcomer of the Year for 2014. It is honestly so touching that people take interest in the work I do and keep tabs with what I get up to. I’ve been so privileged to work with some of the most visionary, creative and inspirational people in the industry — and for someone like me, who takes such a firm interest in the fashion world, I can only look back and feel extraordinarily blessed. I’m not sure how many people are aware of the excitement, the enjoyment or the sheer childlike joy I feel when I work; no matter the job, studio or location, campaign or editorial, sartorial or high fashion — there is so much to absorbed. I sincerely hope those I’ve worked with have felt the energy I exert when working, just as I hope those who see my work in paper/online can sense through the imagery a wonderful, creative group cohesion. Needless to say, I think those who contribute to forums such as theFashionSpot provide an excellent hub of all things that are fashion, only benefiting the fashion community and most likely benefiting me! So with that in mind, I would like to thank all those over the past two-and-a-half years who have followed, supported and even critiqued my work, helping me along the way to winning this lovely award just in time for Christmas!”
