Just as we wind down from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target frenzy, the retail world has another designer collaboration for you to get psyched about. According to WWD, Kohl’s DesigNation has chosen Thakoon Panichgul as its next collaborator but don’t get too juiced yet – the limited edition collection isn’t due to hit shelves until the fall.
Priced at under $200, the range will include dresses and separates inspired by his travels to London. “London is a city I have always loved the energy of. The culture is distinctly familiar but also very international,” Panichgul said. “The idea was to bring a certain energy intrinsic to London style to the Thakoon vernacular for Kohl’s.”
It only just stopped being unbearably cold in the northeast, but we can’t help but be a little psyched for fall now that we’ve got this news. We will definitely be watching closely to see what Kohl’s and Thakoon have in store for what will likely be an epic pairing this fall.
Kohl’s has found itself in the news lately with Wisconsin Governor and 2016 presidential hopeful Scott Walker dropping the brand name to buttress his “every man” image, proudly proclaiming that his shirts and sweaters are from the retailer. Can we expect to see his wife, Tonette Walker in pieces from Thakoon’s collection on the campaign trail this fall? That is, if Thakoon’s high fashion affiliation and the collection’s London roots aren’t a bit too high class for her humble tastes…
