The overwhelming success of The Bachelorette is making Channel Ten rethink their approach towards the franchise for coming seasons.
Channel Ten’s head of entertainment and factual programs, Stephen Tate, told The Daily Telegraph that Sam Frost’s season has given them “great confidence”, which will not only see The Bachelorette be longer (this season was just five weeks) next time, but it will also include the cringeworthy live “After the Final Rose” episode.
Australia hasn’t included the episode since Tim Robards faced off to his exes, like Rochelle Emanuel-Smith, after he picked Anna Heinrich on Season 1. It went a little something like this:
But then Blake Garvey happened and the episode wasn’t included after he chose, then un-chose, Sam, probably for obvious reasons like heartbreak and love triangles and such. However, Sam Wood’s relatively drama-free season followed suit.
Thankfully it’s coming back, because it has the potential to be the best episode of the entire season, and Australia’s answer to Chris Harrison, our main man Osher Gunsberg will be hosting. “Osher is one of the most capable hosts live and we definitely want to do that next year,” Channel Ten’s Stephen explained.
Stephen also mentioned that Channel Ten are considering spin-offs, like Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelor Pad, which have proven popular in the US. “We’re looking at everything,” he explained, although nothing has been confirmed.

To be clear, these spin-offs invite booted bachelor and bachelorette contestants into a group setting where they pick who they fancy for a second chance at love. Can you just imagine? Villains Emily Simms and David Witko doing their hair together in the mirror while Jessica Jones and Birdman Drew Woolford have forehead sex in the spa?
This NEEDS to happen.
