Hello, Gorgeous! 74-Year-Old Barbra Streisand Shows Some Serious Leg on W’s December Cover

Leave it to W Magazine to give us a cover subject that most other fashion titles wouldn’t dare to use. Not only does the magazine champion diversity, W isn’t afraid to use subjects of a certain age. Closing out 2016 in true celebratory fashion is the legendary Barbra Streisand who graces the magazine for December. Steven Meisel was W‘s lensman of choice and with Edward Enninful on styling duties, the outcome is everything our forum members didn’t know they wanted for the holidays.

“I never knew I needed this until now,” screamed an elated jnobis the moment the cover struck our forums.

“Fantastic cover, I love everything about this!” added sixtdaily.

Sharing the same enthusiasm toward the shoot was Miss Dalloway, admiring, “How lovely to see her on the cover, in all her glory, being allowed to look sensual, and stunning! Great to see two Legends working together, once again.”

TeeVanity felt the same way. “I love this. 74 never looked better, come through Barbra,” he raved in excitement.

“What a surprise!! Great, just like old school Vogue Italia in the 90s!” voiced eneroenero.

Yet not everyone was left jumping for joy. “What a bad cover. W needs to take a break and find itself. I’m so lost as to where they stand and where they’re heading..” ranted a concerned MON.

“This magazine is a wreck! I love the idea of Barbra landing the cover! And I also love the idea of Meisel shooting it! But maybe had this been undertaken for Vogue Italia, we might have gotten different results. There’s absolutely no charm here and it’s far too Photoshopped,” stated dior_couture1245.

“What’s the point of putting an older woman on the cover of a magazine when you reduce her age to such processed, plastic features with all the retouching?” asked Phuel.
