So far, the October magazine covers are shaping up to be far better than the September issues, which received mostly yawns from our forum members. And for American ELLE, anything is better than the drab Alicia Vikander cover it served last month. This month, ELLE secured global phenomenon Rihanna to front all 46 worldwide editions of the magazine, showcasing her highly anticipated debut makeup range, Fenty Beauty. Photographed by Solve Sunbsbo, the Barbadian songstress delivers a total of three unique covers for the American newsstands.

Per usual, nothing goes unnoticed by our eagle-eyed forum members. “Seriously? This is literally the exact same image as Natalia [Vodianova] also by Solve for Numéro [back in 2002], pointed out beedonaldson the moment the cover (above) first came to light. (See the cover here.)
“At least he’s copying himself,” laughed kokobombon in response, also noticing the evident similarity.
A.D.C chimed in, “I immediately thought of the Natalia cover as well. They could of at least painted the heart a different color. How sad. Solve may have an excuse but ELLE sure doesn’t.”

Forum member vogue28 wasn’t buying it either. “Yeah, I think Solve Sunbsbo and crew could’ve done something more to show off Rihanna’s new makeup line, as opposed to copying that pretty recognizable shot of Natalia Vodianova from 2002! I much prefer the cover with Rihanna wearing the black sequined outfit (above) anyway,” he stated.
“None of them look good, to be honest,” voiced Benn98. “You have to wonder how it is that they had first dibs yet ended up with this. It all boils down to having an eye for pictures, I suppose, which they don’t. The first cover looks like someone tried to water down Rihanna’s edge, second one is ruined by the styling, and the third one (below) is in need of cropping.”
