If you haven’t already heard, Peter Dundas launched his own eponymous brand in July with a debut collection for Resort 2018. The advertising campaign for the collection just dropped, featuring a sultry Sara Sampaio. Dundas enlisted photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott to capture his vision for the brand with a mysterious, sensual campaign featuring the Portuguese beauty posing amid a dark and moody setting while showing off Dundas’ creations.

Our forums weren’t feeling it, unfortunately. “It sure is impactful but it is also a bit dated,” commented Lola701 upon seeing the campaign images for the first time. “Too early/mid 00s, and we have the clothes to blame for it.”
“What can I say. I didn’t expect it to look classy with Dundas, M&M and Sara involved but this is just very cheap,” disapproved anlabe32.
Orchidee agreed, stating, “For me, the stockings are what really take this into sleazy territory. They were aiming for Tom Ford-era Gucci, but fell way short of that.”
“The colors remind me of Gucci by Frida [Gianinni],” pointed out Nymphaea.
Benn98 felt the same way, replying, “Indeed, slap the Gucci logo on this instead and it would fit right in with Frida’s campaigns. It’s not offensive, but it’s too dull. I thought it would be tackier. Dundas is, after all, a very tacky designer!”
Vogue28 liked what he saw, however. “I like this, and find it to be a much-welcomed departure from Mert & Marcus’ usual standard of work. This gives me major flashbacks to M&M’s work, circa 2007-2008. In addition, what amazes me more is the fact Peter Dundas decided to throw us a total curveball by casting Sara Sampaio and not one of his long-term favorite models,” he said.
“I like it, I think it really suits the brand and Sara is definitely a Dundas woman. She’s killing it,” praised elle_gb.
