It’s an understatement to say that Selena Gomez has gone through a lot these past few years as she faced mental health issues and underwent a kidney transplant due to lupus. She powered through all of it and continues to inspire others with her songs and her courage. In November 2018, she released a collection with Puma called Strong Girl. Now, just in time for summer, the singer is getting into the swimsuit designing game.
Krahs is a new swimwear brand by one of Gomez’s best friends, Theresa Mingus. The founder said the brand was made accessible to every woman as her goal was to make every woman feel sexy (sizes run from XS to XXL). “Every woman wants to feel sexy. Every woman wants to feel confident and beautiful. I definitely want to have a variety of different pieces so everyone can wear them,” said Mingus.
The two friends collaborated on a capsule collection that features five two-piece sets and a single one-piece. Each piece in the Selena Gomez x Krahs collection boasts trendy details. The Baywatch-esque red one-piece has a zipper running up from the midriff and if that wasn’t sexy enough, it also has an open back. The collab also includes a neon bikini with bottoms featuring faux shark bite detailing.
Gomez designed the red hot high-waisted bikini with a belt in order to cover up the scar from her transplant surgery. “The design I did, one of them, it was the high-waisted one with the belt. I’ve had a kidney transplant and I like bathing suits that kind of cover where that’s been and make me feel comfortable,” Gomez explained.
Selena Gomez x Krahs is available on the brand’s website.
