You’re no doubt aware of the fact that our forums have a love-hate relationship with Bella Hadid. There’s no denying Bella gives good face fronting the likes of Allure, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and Vogue Greece. But sometimes mags can get it oh so wrong (we’re looking at you Vogue Japan and Vogue China). Now we can add Vogue Spain to the not-so-distinguished list. Bella makes her second appearance on the Spanish fashion bible for June 2019. Shot down on the beach by Zoey Grossman, Bella looks caught off guard wearing Paco Rabanne in the awkward and unflattering shot.
According to our forums, the newsstand cover (above) was a total miss. “Bella looks like she’s been stranded on the beach for days. Very grimy, but not in a sultry way,” critiqued Benn98.
“Don’t like it. Looks like she’s walking home in a drunken daze. Unflattering angle,” said liv4beauty.
“This is such an awkward pose and not a shot I would pick out for a cover, in any shape or form. Looks very cheap to me I’m afraid,” 333101 chimed in.

In agreement over the questionable shot was TommysBaby: “It just doesn’t look like a cover image.”
“Terrible angle, terrible cover. I’m so terribly sick and tired of Kendull, Bella and their crew. I know I sound like an echo chamber, but how is it possible these painted corpses still sell covers. What is wrong with the world. I’ve had it, officially,” ranted Vitamine W.
Then the digital cover dropped and completely heightened our spirits. “Wow, the digital cover is stunning,” exclaimed tjasmine.
Vogue28 felt the same way, raving, “Absolutely head over heels for that digital cover, and rather dumbfounded as to how Eugenia de la Torriente failed to make that shot the newsstand cover! The industry is supposedly trying to keep print alive… and here’s Vogue Spain giving digital the better cover. Ugh!”
