Hair stylist Jen Atkin, of the Andy Lecompte Salon in Beverly Hills, is known both for her runway work and her celebrity makeovers. She’s styled the manes of such stars as Sofia Vergara, Christina Hendriks, Lindsay Lohan, and the Kardashians.
She’s also worked under the tutelage of John Galliano and Oribe, transforming models into runway creations.
Recently, Atkin was in China working with Galliano for the Dior Resort Collection.
Frederick Fekkai Dry Shampoo – it doesn’t get too powdery, and is the best fix for gym hair if you don’t have time to shower.
Mason Pearson Brush – if I lost my five-year-old brush that is perfectly worn in, I don’t know what I’d do.
T3 Tourmaline Curling Irons – they heat up the fastest, last the longest, and don’t crease hair.
Phytophanere Hair and Nail Vitamins – best for growing out bangs, a bad cut, or to make hair fuller and healthier long-term.
SH: Favorite look you’ve ever created and why?
JA: Working on Diana Jenkin’s book Room 23 was an amazing experience, because I got the opportunity to really play and come up with fun looks for each celebrity.
Moments with Cindy Crawford, George Clooney, Jess Stam, and Lindsay Lohan were some of my favorites.
