Founder of RMS Beauty, Rose-Marie Swift: A tFS Exclusive

Rose-Marie Swift is more than merely an established celebrity makeup artist with a resume that reads like the pages of a fashion magazine (Demi Moore, Miranda Kerr, Celine Dion, Kim Cattrall, Sheryl Crow, and Gisele are just a few of her clients), she also happens to be the founder of one of the greatest organic color lines on the market: RMS Beauty. While the “green” thing is catching on with hair, body, and skin care, makeup companies have been slower to acclimate. That’s precisely why RMS Beauty is such a fantastic endeavor: it’s doing for makeup what sulfate-free has done for hair care!

Rose-Marie Swift and Doutzen Kroes

Here, Rose-Marie answers our FOUR favorite beauty questions (yes, we added a new one!):

INDUSTRY BREAK: My sister unknowingly got me into the business. She was learning facials and massages and asked me to do makeup on some of the dancers. A magazine heard about me somehow and asked me to do the makeup of a famous model who had to come to Vancouver (my hometown) for the cover. It just basically started so easily. I never went out with the intentions of being a makeup artist.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer

My most coveted is my RMS Beauty Living Luminizer — it is the ultimate luminous glow that you can add basically anywhere on your face. Nothing equals it.

RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up

RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up— it will cover almost anything and is pretty undetectable while still being moisturizing.

Shu Uemura Mascara

Shu Uemura Ultimate Expression Black Mascara – we all need a good black mascara.

MAC Full Lash Curler

MAC Full Lash Curler— Yes, it is better than the Shu Uemura one.

Pure Organic Coconut Oil

Pure Organic Coconut Oil— I remove my makeup with it as well as cleanse my skin and I also take 2-3 tablespoons internally. It’s really great for the skin.

FAVORITE BEAUTY SECRET: Less is more. I believe women are overdoing it with excessive use of moisturizers, harsh cleansers and scrubs, sunscreens, anti-aging creams, botox, and full faces of makeup. Basically, it’s all an over-stimulation of the skin in general. Easy does it. Be simplistic and let the skin breathe.
