Why we like it: Models have faces that can easily pull off any beauty look, it’s their job after all, but this metallic eye on Coco Rocha is one that not only is super flattering and unique but will easily work on most women.
How to get it at home: Start by applying a luminous primer such as Guerlain’s Meteorites Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer $69 all over the skin. Next, with a foundation brush, apply a foundation that has a bit more coverage than normal such as Clinique’s Repairwear Laser Focus Foundation $32.50 and blend it well into the skin. A tip for blending foundation is that if you think you’ve applied too much, take a clean buffing brush and work the product into your skin. This will soften any areas of heavy coverage. With that same foundation brush, apply Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Blush in One Too Many $25 just under the cheekbones. With this product you only need a very small amount, so applying it with your foundation brush helps to ensure a subtle application. You don’t want any glitter on the cheeks so you can skip highlighter.
To get Coco’s green tinted metallic eye, blend Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadow in Epatant $36 all over the lid with a brush or your finger. Next with a small eyeliner brush, apply Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner $21 with a horizontal flick at the outer corner. Run your brush under your lower lashes, gradually thickening the line until it conects with the top line. Blend the liner into the cream shadow near the inner corner of the eye but leave the outer corner quite heavy. Finish off your eye with a small amount of Bare Escentuals High Shine Eyecolor in Gold Meal $16 just in the inner corner. You can add mascara if you feel you have to but with a defined eye such as this, it’s often a good idea to leave the lashes bare to draw attention to the color. Lastly, finish off with NARS’ Lipstick in Cruising $24 or an equally subtle sheer gloss.
