To get the look, he started with slightly damp hair and used a comb to brush the hair towards the back of the head. He then sprayed Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel throughout the hair. Next, he created a straight middle part and combed through the hair. Hair was blow-dried using the stylist’s hands to smooth and flatten. Hair was then separated into three sections and the middle section was sprayed with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hair Spray for shine; it was then tied into a tight ponytail.
The section on the left side was divided into two sections, each of which was tightly braided. The same was then done on the right side. The two top braids from each side were criss-crossed over the ponytail and secured with pins under the ponytail. Then, the two bottom braids were pined in a U-formation to the top of the ponytail. Next, the middle section of each U-braid was pinned up to the side of the head creating a 90 degree angle. To finish the look, the ponytail was teased and sprayed with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hair Spray and smoothed with Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist.
Makeup was inspired by “India in the 1960s” and Laura Mercier‘s Talia Shobrook explained that it all started with “flawless illuminated skin.” Skin was prepped with an oil-free lotion and primer before foundation and tinted moisturizer were used. Concealer was then applied, followed by Laura Mercier Bronzing Pressed Powder in Dune Bronze, which went on the forehead and the contours of the models’ cheekbones. The most notable part of the look, however, was the eye, which was finished with specs of gold leaf in the inner corners — the subtle opulence was a perfect complement to the ornate collection.
