As we ease into the awards season, very little pressure is put on the Golden Globes to deliver stellar beauty looks. It's nowhere as adventurous as the Met Ball and less glamorous than the Oscars, but it often gives celebrities the chance to test drive a look, and if last night was any indication of what's to come, we can expect lots of nude lips, dark liner and twisted updos this season. Here are some of our favorites from the night.
Nude Lips, Lined Eyes, and Waved Locks Rule the Red Carpet at the Globes
Rachel Weisz
A black dress almost begs for a statement lip but we were pleased by Rachel's unexpected berry hued choice. It was warm and fresh without being too spring-y and bright.

Kerry Washington
We have a major beauty crush on Kerry Washington, especially during the recent Django press tour , and she didn't disappoint us last night. Her light and airy dress needed a strong beauty look and her pin-straight locks and unexpected eyeshadow did the trick.

Lucy Liu
We anticipate that Liu won't be landing on many best dressed lists for that dress but she wins best braid from us, hands down. Fishtails are easy to recreate at home, if you have enough hair, but if you need a boost, try clip-in extensions under the crown to add extra length.

Jennifer Lawrence
Brown smoky eyes have been sweeping the red carpets for a few years now but Jennifer's warm version might just be our favorite. Paired with a twisted updo, one of the best we might add, her look was event appropriate but not too harsh on her youthful skin.

Ariel Winter
Younger starlets always have the added challenge of looking age appropriate at red carpet events but the Modern Family star did it right with her pretty headband and glossy pink lips.

Kate Hudson
The main beauty trend to come out of the Globes was the Bardot-favorite look: nude lips with heavily lined eyes. Kate was just one of the stars rocking the look and it was an ideal match with her relaxed hair and embellished dress .

Naomi Watts
Faux bobs are a bit tricky to do at home but the payoff is great. For women with mid-length hair, you can test drive the retro bob of your dreams by mimicking Naomi's pinned under style.

Marion Cotillard
While this is definitely not the most daring look of the night, we love how Marion matched her cheeks with her lips. Look for a product that does double-duty if you're looking to recreate this look at home.

Jessica Chastain
We could write pages and pages on the color of Jessica's hair because it's the perfect golden ginger that's near-impossible to recreate. She showcased it off perfectly here allowing the soft waves to pick up and reflect the light.

Emily Blunt
There has been a lot of chatter about Emily's new lighter hair but her color actually softens up this slicked back bun adding dimension to an otherwise boring style.
