Makeup Inspired By 2013 Oscar Nominated Films
Les Mis
I think we can all agree the only makeup from Les Mis you'd actually want to emulate is Amanda Seyfried 's in the role of Cosette. (Makeup artists used bloodshot contacts, textured makeup, false teeth and chunky makeup to make Anne Hathaway ugly-ish, here's a great video on the Oscar-nominated makeup.) Seyfried wore a feminine palette of peaches, pinks and creams. A flawless complexion is especially important for this look, so try MAC Studio Fix Foundation , $27, or blend some Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer , $70, with your moisturizer. A rosy blush applied a little heavier than you might use every day is another must. Go light on the eyes and lips since this is supposed to be a more natural look. Use a nude eye palette like Bobbi Brown's Ultra Nude Eye Palette , $65, and use the darkest brown as liner, using a flat brush to wiggle it into the lash line so it doesn't look like you're wearing any. Add some mascara and a moisturizing peach-nude lipstick and you're golden — like that little statuette everyone is after.

Silver Linings Playbook
Jennifer Lawrence 's character Tiffany Maxwell was originally supposed to be goth for the movie Silver Linings Playbook , but Harvey Weinstein freaked when he saw the screen tests. They decided to keep the darker hair and some black eyeliner as a nod to the goth character and lighten up the rest of the look. Unless she's sporting a natural look, Lawrence wore black eyeliner throughout the movie. When she was dressed up, it was liquid and winged, but for the most part it was kohl-rimmed. A great black eyeliner, especially for lining the waterline under your eyes, is Chanel Stylo Yeux , $30. Pair with natural blush and a nude lip.

Anna Karenina
"The look of Anna Karenina in the movie was challenging because we were creating a look pleasing to the modern aesthetic that is also true to the period, just as the clothing design was inspired by '50s Dior couture, but was also of the period," makeup artist Ivana Primorac told Make-Up Artist magazine. "Make-up, hair and clothing design had to complement and follow that design thread. We changed Keira's coloring, hair color, hairline [and] eyebrow shape—a lot!" Clean-looking skin and a strong brow are utmost - Keira Knightley's were extended with real human hair! To define eyes try Chanel Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil , $28, in Amber, as eye shadow and smudged into the lash line. A cream blush will keep your skin looking fresh, and finish up with a rosy-coral lipstick.

Skyfall
Perhaps the most dramatic look of the bunch, Bérénice Marlohe was stunning as Severine.
"She’s incredibly beautiful, and she’s been used by men all her life. She uses her makeup as a sort of armor to present a certain face to the world, and she uses her beauty wherever she can to survive. So she has very dramatic makeup that was partly inspired by her surroundings," makeup artist Naomi Donne told Elle.
"If you’re doing that smoky, almond-eye look, then you really have to blend the shadow out to the corners so that it becomes quite pointy at the sides. I did dark lips on her in the film, but for some scenes I used a lip gloss by Chantecaille called Crystalline , $33. The Chantecaille lip glosses are very wet-looking and stay on really well. I also used a Chantecaille base and a glittery black NARS eye shadow."
