“The Rag & Bone girl has to be a little edgy,” said Revlon global artistic director Gucci Westman. The makeup pro created a bold World Cup-inspired orange lip for the show using Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Mischievous and the brand’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Carnival, which marked the first time the brand’s designers, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, had their models walking down the runway in a colored lip. Westman was quick to note that it was kept matte — no gloss was used. “Orange felt like a cool departure and it looks great with all of the pastels in the collection. The Rag & Bone girl doesn’t wear gloss.” Other key products were Revlon’s PhotoReady BB Cream and Skinlights Face Illuminator in Pink Light.
For hair, Redken master Guido said he wanted to change the idea of natural. He parted hair in the middle and wet the ends for a “tough natural” look that made it appear as though the models just stepped out of the shower. He also noted that he wanted to emphasise a youthful charm, so ears are peaking out from under the hair and he singled out Kate Moss as always being a style icon for the show. Redken’s Forceful 23 and Satinwear 02 were the two key products used.
As impressive as the hair and makeup was the food, which included custom juices from The Juice Press.
