New York Fashion Week just wrapped up. While we’re always sad to see it go, at least the Spring 2022 season supplied plenty of inspo. Especially on the beauty front. If you’ve been craving fresh ways to wear everything from eyeshadow to blush, you’re in luck. The New York Fashion Week Spring 2022 makeup looks certainly delivered.
Prismatic highlighter, classic red lipstick and neon eyeshadows all proved popular. We saw practically every neon hue from green at Markarian to blue and magenta at Prabal Gurung. It doesn’t matter the shade as long as it’s bold and sparks joy.
Application is also key. Thankfully, there are numerous new ways to make use of what you already have. Good news since we’re still trying to penny pinch.

At Prabal Gurung, makeup artist Sil Bruinsma made models’ eyes really shine with dabs of MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadows in Triennial Wave and What’s The WIFI? ($19).

The Markarian Spring 2022 show had a romantic beauty look featuring pops of emerald green on the center of eyes courtesy of makeup artist Jen Myles. Winged eyeliner and KISS My Lash But Better in No Filters ($4.99) completed the look.

You can’t get more joyful than the red, royal blue and even black winged eyeshadow at the LaQuan Smith show. Reflective glitter and a few well-placed rhinestones on the outer corners of eyes upped the ante.

The just-bitten lip color at Ulla Johnson was a more understated take on the colorful makeup trend, but equally pretty. Makeup artist Romy Soleimani alternated between springy magenta and coral shades, then added blue mascara for even more of a wow factor.

Threeasfour tried a different approach with colored eyebrows. The brows were enhanced by different saturated pigments (blue, green, orange, red) and some models even sported bleached versions. The colors represented the chakras that inspired the collection.

There was no missing the bold swipes of electric eyeshadow that extended up to eyebrows on select models at Proenza Schouler. Makeup artist Diane Kendal broke the minimalist theme by adding the futuristic wash of color.

Who says glamour only comes in the form of red lips? Not Moschino and MAC Cosmetics Key Makeup Artist Kabuki. Models were treated to smoked-out eyes and pink lipstick. The MAC lip shades of choice were Frost Lipstick in Pink Power ($19) and Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted To Chili ($22).

The hot makeup at Naeem Khan is the definition of timeless sophistication. The vibe was vintage New York and makeup artist Fabiana Graziani set the tone with flicked eyeliner, gold eyeshadow and classic red lipstick.

Fans of an otherworldly glow need look no further than the Private Policy show where makeup artist Zenia Jaeger mixed different Submission Beauty Glitters ($25) to liberally highlight each models’ skin tone.

At Gabriela Hearst, makeup artist Hannah Murray for Bobbi Brown focused on enhancing models’ natural beauty without strong color. Clean skin, a wash of beige on eyes and naturally sculpted cheeks lent a polished finish.

The swirling braided updos at Christian Siriano were the star attraction. But the glamorous winged eyes and neutral lips from Charlotte Tilbury left a lasting impression. She dubbed the eyes "a super feline 90s supermodel gaze" and created the look with Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette ($57).
