Gwyneth Paltrow Makes Us Want to Head South for the Winter on WSJ’s Sun-Kissed Holiday Cover

We often say how underrated WSJ Magazine is and, once again, the magazine has knocked it out of the park. Back in September, WSJ delivered a bevy of models for the industry’s most important print issue of the year and now, as it closes out 2018, makes us want to head south for the winter. Give it up for Gwyneth Paltrow, who covers the December 2018/January 2019 issue, playing the role of the ultimate blonde beach babe. Photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by George Cortina (one of fashion’s ultimate dream teams), the American actress/lifestyle guru indulges in a juicy ice pop for the effortless and sun-soaked cover image. We’ll have whatever she’s having!

Members of our forums were sold instantly — or at least the majority were. “Oh wow, absolutely love this one,” raved dodencebt.

“Wow, that’s so good!” caioherrero acknowledged in agreement.

“Cortina is involved so, it’s fabulous… as usual!” exclaimed Lola701.

Sharing the same level of enthusiasm for the outcome was forum member tomtakesphotos: “I think these are really beautiful, it’s the styling I love, the hair and makeup. It’s very 70s Slim Aarons, also a bit Cheryl Teigs in a way or something? Lovely. Weird month for it but I’ll take it!”

“She gives supermodel/Elle Macpherson vibes! Love it and she has a really great body,” admired CocoM.

“Pretty but totally unrecognizable,” complained Nymphaea.

Benn98 seemingly agreed Gwyneth didn’t look like her usual self. “Which is the latest strategy. If you can’t deal with their aging, cover it up with hair, netting. P.S. If I squint it looks like an ELLE version of Kate Moss playing at [Brigitte] Bardot for the 100th time,” he said.

“What makes this good is that it doesn’t look like her pitiful self. It is a good cover but if it was Kate Moss or Anna Ewers it would’ve been even better. Too bad she is an execrable human being,” EstefaniaAbaddon slammed.
