Kenzo‘s holding company, LVMH, has just hired the team behind New York-based boutique Opening Ceremony. 36-year-old Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are taking the helm at the legendary Paris-based fashion house, and are planning to show their first collection in October, for the Spring 2012 season.

Leon and Lim are taking over for Italian designer Antonio Marras, and are taking on the task of bringing Kenzo to a new generation of consumers. Neither member of the retailer pair has had any formal design training, but Opening Ceremony has achieved a large following thanks to their vision.
The Telegraph is speculating that Marras’ unexpected exit from Kenzo is tied to an offer to design for Dior.
