“Kate is keenly conscious that while her new grandmother-in-law may not chide her for appearing on a Vogue cover. But she would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squirm with simply a look or a ‘tut, tut.'”
Hm, right. Not that I don’t find some pleasure in hearing someone turn down an appearance in the fancy-pants glossy over questions of propriety, but it’s not like this is the first time a Royal’s been lauded for her style. Princess Diana sat for Vogue three whole times and she wasn’t like, humiliated by the experience.
In fact, the internet spends so much time fussing over Kate’s dresses and inspecting her pantyhose that it’s pretty clear that in the public eye, her Royal title and duties are sort of besides the point. Let the girl sit for a pretty picture. Shouldn’t there be some perks to marrying a prince?
