Anna Wintour flew in to Tokyo this weekend for the city’s first Fashion’s Night Out, and jeez louise does she have an international fanbase. The Vogue editor was mobbed as she and her daughter, Bee Shaffer, popped in and out of high-end designer stores.
“Hordes of passersby in the Omotesando and Aoyama shopping districts clustered outside each store Wintour entered. They strained their necks to try and catch a glimpse of her. They called out her name and even followed her down the street.”
In the photo below, taken at Tod’s, Wintour seems to be in high spirits, an unexpected look for American fashion’s most feared personalities. If she likes the attention so much, we can start mobbing her too! Maybe she’s tired of being handled with kid gloves and just wants to feel special and adored. I’m so on it.
As a side note, what’s going on with Bee’s FNO outfit? Are those baggy leather shorts? Just no. Sorry!
