A legal source told WWD that it’s likely “the Supreme Court believes the judge’s decision to clear the designers was tainted by a legal flaw, a defective motivation or an error in the application of the law.”
The day after the decision Gabbana made an outburst on Twitter—“Ladri!!! [‘thieves’ in Italian]. They don’t know what to do to get money out of us”—but even when the Tweet was removed from the account, Gabbana issued another missive: “It’s really true that in Italy they do what they want…as they please.…Perhaps it would be best to leave…”
