A cover story in Star, which has been backed up by similarly reputable publications like RadarOnline and TMZ, reports that the Kardashians are under investigation by a human rights organization for using “foreign slave labor” to manufacture their beauty and apparel brand in China.
The expose quotes executive director Charles Kernaghan of the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights:
“The Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people. Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers, they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women’s rights.”
Last year, the reality TV family earned up to $65 million from sales of the Kardashian Kollection. Meanwhile, workers at the factory labor for about 84 hours a week, and make approximately $15 a month, according to reports.
Kris Jenners pleads her ignorance (not unbelievably):
“As far as I know the factories that are used to manufacture the Kardashian clothing and shoes have nothing terrible going on at all and the factories are very well policed and meet factory standards.”
Please boycott everything the Kardashians have ever sold, ever. Please stop watching their show. And in solidarity, I’ll try to stop writing about them.
