Phillip Lim is a golden boy of New York City design (I suppose a 40-year-old man can’t really be called a boy). After launching his label in 2005, Lim went on to be nominated as a finalist for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue‘s prestigious Fashion Fund Award. In 2007 he was awarded the CFDA’s Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear in the Womenswear category. Five years later, in 2012, he received the same award for Menswear. This year, the American fashion body nominated him for the 2013 Accessory Designer of the Year Award. Soon, the CFDA will have to invent entirely new awards solely dedicated to praising Phillip Lim.
