Mob Wives and 90s Teen Spirit Inspire Beaufille Summer Jewellery

The label itself is founded by two Toronto-based sisters, Chloe and Parris Gordon, who are skilled in the art of fusing femininity with rock ‘n’ roll culture. That much is evident in their Spring/Summer 2014 range, which features eye-catching designs with understated accents. The twosome divides the creative work evenly, with Chloé concentrating on clothing and Parris overseeing jewellery and accessories, a task she is evidently skilled in.

The current lineup, which was reportedly inspired by the renaissance and mob wives (not the Staten Island reality kind) includes pieces like The Don necklace (number 3 above) with a cross pattern inspired by old-timey flora and fauna; The Doll Parts necklace with its emblems, gemstone and metal beats (4); the darling Castle ring with its quirky turrets (2); and the amazing Rocco cocktail ring (1), which features a hidden compartment that contains an upside down set topaz. As a November baby, it’s naturally my favourite.

Everything is ultra edgy and, while I do detect a throwback 90s vibe with the crosses and oxidized brass, it’s still all very fresh and offers a great mix of the modern and historic for today’s renaissance gal. Prices swing widely on the spectrum between $65 for a simple ring, $100 for the Teen Spirit ear cuff (number 5 above, an ode to Nirvana no doubt) and up to $785 for The Don necklace, which you can find at stockists in Canada and the U.S.
