Poppytalk for Target Introduces ‘Glamping’ to Our Lexicon

Just in time for summer cottage and camping season, Target Canada has teamed with Vancouver-based lifestyle blog, Poppytalk, to launch a stylish, limited-edition party and camping collection.

What they’re dubbing “glamping,” Poppytalk provides guests with a grown-up take on the camping experience, which calls for elegant Victorian-inspired details and florals in soft, colourful hues to add luxury to any outdoor occasion — whether that be a backyard barbecue, a long weekend or simply a picnic in the park.

On offer are reimagined bowls and cake stands in printed corrugated cardboard, along with string lights, lanterns, s’mores skewers and camping stoves decorated in colourful patterns inspired by vintage china. It’s all very down-the-rabbit-hole in appearance as the line allows for a quintessential camping experience.

“Florals mixed with the lure of the great outdoors was the inspiration behind the Poppytalk for Target collection — we wanted to create an affordable collection that could easily be adaptable to a glamorous party in the backyard or a casual picnic at the beach,” said Jan Halvarson, the co-founder of Poppytalk, in a press release.

Along with her partner and husband, Earl Einarson, this pair have become known for their ability to mine the beautiful, the decayed and the handmade. Now boasting more than 20 pieces ranging in price from $3 to $20, this latest collection will be available at most Target stores across Canada and the U.S. beginning June 22, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a magical summer filled with “glamping” and pretty things.

As for Target Canada’s next move, though they’ve been suffering heavy losses since branching north of the border, they intend to keep the party going with more capsule collections to come. Look out for additional design partners Joy Cho of Oh Joy! and Kate Arends of Wit & Delight for more party décor, paper products and serving pieces.
