Leading Australian business college The Fashion Institute (TFI) has announced an exclusive partnership with Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week for 2014, meaning pretty exciting stuff for its existing students. Although these future game-changers and style-makers are just taking their first baby steps into the big, bad world of fashion, this year they’ll have the chance to work with and among fashion industry leaders at the highly-acclaimed NYFW event.
For the very first time, Sydney’s TFI will take six of its top students with experience in production, styling, PR and marketing as well as event management over to New York City this September to be amidst the fun, adrenaline and hustle and bustle of Fashion Week. Well-known for its industry connections and workplace training program, the college has secured to-die-for opportunities with Australian brands showcasing across the busy couple of weeks.
Working with these labels on an international stage, the students will have the chance to see what being part of this world truly entails — wardrobe malfunctions and Kelly Cutrone personalities included. TFI has confirmed that the students will partner with IMG International, Australian designer Tome NYC, emerging talent showcase Fashion Palette, New York PR firm Mode PR and event agency Miro House, with the opportunity for more organisations to be part of the action.
It’s sure to be an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for the lucky students, with a pretty high chance of getting their “foot in the door,” as the industry insiders like to term it.
