LVMH to Buy Proenza Schouler?

LVMH has really been expanding this past year. Last September, the French luxury conglomerate purchased a 52 percent stake in Nicholas Kirkwood and invested 46 percent in J.W.Anderson. Now, it looks like LVMH is trying to add to its roster of young brands, with rumors that Proenza Schouler will be its next big buyout.

Sources say that LVMH is currently in talks with the brand to purchase at least a 40 percent stake, although little else is known. Naturally, the details concerning a big acquisition like this would be kept on the low, but according to WWD, LVMH has been eyeing Proenza Schouler for a while. Word is that it was looking at design duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez to helm Givenchy before going with Riccardo Tisci.

We’ll just have to see if the purchase goes through, but we have a feeling we might soon be hearing an announcement officially welcoming Proenza Schouler to the LVMH family.
