But the biggest surprise of all comes today as the magazine revealed its cover star is none other than Beyoncé Knowles! The “Empress of Pop” is photographed by Pierre Debusschere and styled by Riccardo Tisci, crouched down, but looking no less regal in a floral Yohji Yamamoto piece. In the spread, we see the “Drunk in Love” singer posing in everything from Givenchy (naturally) and Saint Laurent to Prada and Comme des Garçons — with, of course, the addition of a Chanel surfboard.
The accompanying article is a poem, inspired by Her Excellency’s own words in an interview with Forrest Gander. The singer dishes that she draws upon her old alter ego Sasha Fierce sometimes even in bed.
