Baz Luhrmann is Throwing a Wild Party at Central Park Zoo

The man responsible for Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby, Baz Luhrmann, and his wife, costume designer Catherine Martin, are throwing the party to trump all parties at New York’s Central Park Zoo. We’re excited, and you should be too, because things are about to get wild.

Page Six reports that everyone who’s anyone is expected to show at the zoo-turned-wonderland, which will act as the opening-night event for the couple’s takeover of Barneys’ Madison Avenue store this holiday season.

Baz and Catherine will be creating the ultimate in-store experience as part of the project called — wait for it — Baz Dazzled Holiday. If you happen to be in the area, plan a pit stop to explore the pair’s magical world of fantastical characters and creatures, plus some snow owls and candy canes.

It sounds like Barneys is about to become the best kind of winter wonderland, but the party, taking place on November 13, is sure to go down in the history books. The man’s a genius.
