Kim was spied carrying the bag yesterday while out and about with hubby Kanye, so we get our first look at North’s artistic flair.
The strangest part about this whole thing is that the bag was originally reported to be a Birkin — but it’s not. Still, some outlets continue to refer to it as such, though the style of Kim’s bag is decidedly different from what a Birkin looks like.

Like most other luxury labels, Hermes designs bags in more than one style. This one, as PurseBlog’s Amanda Mull points out, is the Haut à Courroies Herbag— NOT a Birkin bag, of which Kim has many. The George Condo-painted bag Kanye gifted Kim last year for Christmas also looks a lot like a Birkin (as we originally thought), but it turns out that one is also not a Birkin. It’s an HAC bag.
As you can see, Kim’s Condo bag is actually very different from the piece North decorated. But Birkin or no Birkin, we think everyone can agree that Kim’s birthday bag is really just adorable. Also: Hermes’ bags all look really similar.
