This isn’t your average garage sale. You will not find weird old pictures of somebody’s family from the 60s or worn-in Tupperware from the early 90s. Also, it’s not taking place in an actual garage. Garage magazine is having an online auction with items curated from the homes of 13 key members of the creative set. Jeff Koons, James Franco, Richard Phillips, Miuccia Prada and several others have all donated their old (enviable) junk to the cause with proceeds benefiting CalArts and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art Education.
And these artsy throwaways are anything but. Among the lots is a self-portrait of Absolutely Fabulous‘ Joanna Lumley as her character Patsy Stone, an embellished, fringed leather skirt from Miuccia Prada and a Prada shirt right off Carsten Höller’s back.
You can bid on the items from January 25 to February 4 online at the dedicated eBay shop.
