Fashion Police Is Taking a Break, Amidst Rumors of Kathy Griffin’s Diva-Like Behavior

Things have been rough for Fashion Police ever since Giuliana Rancic made those questionable comments about Zendaya’s hair at the Oscars. The show has since seen the departure of two of its cast members – Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin, the latter who said that Fashion Police was simply too out of sync with her brand of comedy, that she had no choice but to leave.

Now, Fashion Police is taking a break from all the controversy and E! has announced that the show will go on hiatus until September, presumably to gather itself and look for new cast members and hopefully reexamine their approach to red carpet commentary and comedy. “Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of ‘Fashion Police’ fans around the world,” E! said in a statement.

But if you thought that was the end to all the Fashion Police drama, think again. Rumors are swirling that Kathy Griffin didn’t leave the program because of her moral convictions – rather it was more of an effort to save face in light of her impending termination. “Griffin’s gig was ‘doomed from the start,'” Defamer said. “She alienated her co-panelists, demanded the termination of some of the show’s longtime employees, and was otherwise ‘obstinate’ —and her current redemption tour is face-saving attempting.”

Sources say that Griffin’s diva-like behavior, including treating the cast “like they were her staff,” (which would explain Kelly Osbourne’s vocal discontent over the entire Zendaya issue,) and firing of former staff for personal reasons is why Griffin jumped the gun and left before an embarrassing termination.

Whether or not these rumors are to be believed, one thing is for certain: This entire situation is a hot mess.
