Grace Jones Is Finally Getting a Documentary

Grace Jones was possibly one of the most fascinating women of the 70s and 80s, an icon beloved for her androgynous looks and daring approach to modeling. Now, the fashion muse and singer is getting her very own documentary, courtesy of the BBC, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Grace Jones – the Musical of My Life is an inside look at the life of the 66-year-old Jamaican fashion icon, directed by Sophie Fiennes.

Jones became the toast of Paris after moving there in the 70s, working for designers like Azzedine Alaïa, Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo. She was also a muse for photographer Jean Paul Goude, with whom she had a child, posing for some of his most famous images.

From lighting up the stage with dance hits like Slave to the Rhythmto being the subject of some of fashion’s most memorable photos, it is only fitting that the legendary Ms. Jones is (finally!) getting a documentary. And we can’t wait to see it.
