Lucky FABB Conference Postponed Following Eva Chen Announcement

The drama over at Lucky continues. Last week, editor-in-chief Eva Chen announced that she was transitioning from the publication and now some more disappointing news from the shopping title. The biannual Lucky FABB conference has been canceled, a mere week before it was set to go down in New York City.

Lucky decided to postpone the event after Eva Chen revealed that she would be stepping down as editor-in-chief, sending an email informing ticket holders of the changes on April 30. “We are prioritizing what is best for the brand and have made the decision to postpone the upcoming Lucky Fabb conference,” the email states

Some speculate that low ticket sales may have also been a factor. A source sent us an email targeting past Lucky FABB attendees sent on April 28, just over a week before the conference, offering a 30% discount off the ticket price. The email also promised 50% off for referring a friend. But perhaps that was simply a special promotion for people who attended the conference before, not reflective of ticket sales.

The event, which cost between $250 and $600, was to feature such industry luminaries as Emily Weiss and keynote speaker Alexa Chung. Lucky assured ticket holders that they will be reimbursed and that they are planning to reschedule the event. Of course, this does little to appease the out-of-state attendees who booked plane tickets and hotels in order to attend the affair.
