Proenza Schouler is expanding its offerings and delving into the realm of fragrance for the first time. The American fashion label has inked a deal with L’Oreal to create fragrances under the cosmetics giant’s umbrella. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez said they had been hoping to launch a fragrance for some time and now they have been given the opportunity by the same company that backs scents from YSL, Viktor & Rolf, Maison Margiela and more.
“Working on a fragrance has always been a dream of ours, and we could not have imagined that one day we would be given the chance to do so with the world leaders in the field,” they said. “We look forward to translating our visual aesthetic into the subtle and highly emotional world of scent.”
No word yet on when Proenza’s first fragrance will be released so we’ll be here waiting with bated breath for it to hit shelves. Who knows? Proenza’s perfume could wind up being our next go-to scent.
