Somewhere between touring, walking in LA Fashion Week, hanging with celeb friends like Adam Lambert and Nicole Richie, and even appearing as an American Apparel ad girl, she managed to find time to record her new EP, “Kaleidoscope”.
Courtney teases her new release as, “a little bit Kylie, a bit Tove Lo, a bit Robyn, and a good dollop of Vegemite. I recommend listening to it while jumping on your bed in your pajamas.“ Also worth noting, with the help of Kickstarter and her fans, she managed to raise over $37,000 to get the album produced and recorded.
Impressively, Courtney assembled a talented team to help write the tracks and is able to boast co-writing credits with Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame and even Sam Sparro.
As a result, “Kaleidoscope” is full of impressive tracks that tackle a variety of subjects including glamour, gender-bending, and the negative effects of social media on our self-esteem. The songs also contain influences from powerhouse artists such as Grace Jones, Lady Gaga, and John Lennon and Yoko Ono‘s message of peace and love.
Her first single, “Ecstasy”, is out now on iTunes and her follow-up single “Ugly” arrives on radio on June 29.
“Kaleidoscope” will be available from iTunes on July 7.
