The Business of Fashion has released its list of the 500 most influential people in the industry. Of course, there are the names you would expect to see: Anna Wintour, Cara Delevingne, Alexander Wang, Alber Elbaz, Carine Roitfeld, etc, but this year some new additions made the list, most notably Caitlyn Jenner.
BoF added the transgender activist for her status as a budding fashion icon, noting that since making her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, she’s become a big draw for designers who are keen to get her in their duds. “Jenner’s fairy tale transformation also fits with fashion’s central narrative — she is the perfect model to show how you can truly express your identity through clothes,” BoF writes. “No doubt by the next New York Fashion Week, Caitlyn Jenner will be a front row regular.”
Another newcomer is Jessica Diehl – the woman who dressed Caitlyn for the Vanity Fair shoot, who makes the list with fellow newbies Rihanna (how is she only just making this list?), Mansur Gavriel’s Floriana Gavriel and Rachel Mansur, Lucky Blue Smith, Gigi Hadid, Jeremy Scott, Olivier Rousteing, Delpozo’s Josep Font and more.
Check out the full list to see who made the cut.
