Victoria’s Secret isn’t winning over any fans with its lack of commitment to diversity. Earlier this month, androgynous model Rain Dove slammed the lingerie brand for its narrow definition of beauty. This week, Tess Holliday is taking Victoria’s Secret to task for its lack of body diversity. “They are perpetuating the image of what’s wrong with America and with society in general, that you have to look a certain way — like a Victoria’s Secret Angel — to feel beautiful and be sexy,” she told Yahoo in a video interview.

This isn’t the first time the plus-size model addressed Victoria’s Secret. She once posted a lingerie picture on Instagram, writing: “If Victoria’s Secret needs a plus-size angel… call me. PS DUH us fuller ladies like to wear lingerie & look sexy. Get with it.” In September of this year, she admonished them for not carrying plus-sizes in stores. Victoria’s Secret has yet to acknowledge her comments. “I don’t think they cared,” Holliday said. “They probably didn’t look up from their glitter and angel body spray — or money!”
Holliday isn’t sitting around waiting for a response. She’s introducing a plus-size fashion line that will provide more style options to a grossly underserved market. “I wanted to do something that was edgy and sexy but then give some options for people who don’t want to wear the same tired floral, leopard, cat-print stuff,” she said. “There have been the most atrocious prints on plus-size garments that would never be on straight sizes.”

The size 22 model has some choice words for social media critics who claim she glorifies an unhealthy lifestyle. “I’m not [unhealthy],” she said, adding, “Obviously, someone doesn’t wake up fat. I know that I am fat, but people completely miss the point of me trying to educate women and show them that it’s OK to be who you are and love yourself and still live your life and not be miserable.” Who could disagree with that?
