Kesha Gives Moving Speech After Receiving the Human Rights Campaign’s Visibility Award

“Fame is strange and unnatural and I’m grateful for it mainly because it has put me in the position to do something positive for the world,” she said.

Giving a moving acceptance speech, Kesha, who came out as bisexual in 2013, went on to discuss not only the progress of LGBT rights but also what is still left to do. “My message to you today is don’t be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience.

“Don’t let people scare and shame you in changing the things about yourself that make you unique.”

Addressing her current legal battle with her producer and alleged sexual abuser Dr Luke, Kesha was very thankful for the support from her fans.

“As many of you know I am going through some personal things that have been really intense and hard lately and I just want to say thank you for any support I have received.”

You can watch the whole thing here below, with Kesha’s speech starting at around the 8:45 mark.
