Brazilian company Monange is doing their Monange Dream Fashion Tour for the second year in a row. They’re calling the show, which is essentially a knockoff of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and features several familiar VS faces, “the biggest tour of fashion and music in Latin America.” Their “Dream Models” or headliners are models Isabeli Fontana, Renata Kuerten, Adriana Lima, Izabel Goulart, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Ana Beatriz Barros. The entire cast is made up entirely of Brazilian models, and though the first show took place on March 26, the tour of twelve Brazilian cities will continue with one or two shows a month through September.
Lots of forum members were thrilled to see some of their favorite models in another venue where they could sashay down the runway and prance around wearing next to nothing. “I know it’s a VS knockoff, but what could be better than these beautiful Brazilian girls on the runway in fun costumes. Love it! I mean they pretty much have every single one of my favorite Brazilian girls,” wrote fantastical. “It’s like the [Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show] every couple of weeks!” added vivaglam.
“I’m dying of body, hair and face envy right now,” laughed Psylocke. “How can all these Brazilian models be so incredibly perfect? There isn’t a single one I don’t like in that show.”
There will be eleven more opportunities to ogle the girls as they continue on their tour of Brazil this year.
Model Natasha Poly is gearing up for a three-day wedding celebration in St. Tropez next month. Fans of Poly’s in the Fashion Spot forums were caught off guard, but excited by the news of the impending nuptials. “What unexpected news!… Can’t wait to see her in a wedding dress,” wrote KatherineCouture.
Beyond congratulating Poly within her tFS thread, members were speculating as to who her groom, Peter Bakker, is. They Googled his name and produced images of businessmen young and old who could potentially fit the bill, but who, in all likelihood, don’t.
Vogue28 predicted “Natasha will be a total vision walking down the aisle,” and zacatecas570 joked that it “would be cool if she walks really fierce down the aisle.”
Speaking of Weddings…
Reese Witherspoon wed entertainment agent Jim Toth last weekend in a small ceremony at her ranch in Ojai, California. The bride reportedly wore a custom Monique L’huillier strapless pale pink gown. Despite the fact that Witherspoon seems to be private and none of us can remember seeing pictures from her first wedding to Ryan Phillippe, it seems that today, Wednesday, celebrity gossip magazine US Weekly may be releasing exclusive images from the wedding.
“It would be nice to see [a] picture of her in her dress because I bet it was beautiful!” predicted Lily Jo, but it seems there is actually more curiosity about the guest list than the couple at the altar. Scarlett Johansson, who is a client of Toth’s, showed up to the wedding with Sean Penn in tow, adding ammunition to the rumors that the two are a couple.
According to m.j. “[Scarlett] is a maneater, [Sean] is trouble,” and jomarlushka thinks that statement sums up the situation perfectly.
