Giuseppe Zanotti and Iceberg Want to Bring Back the Perm (Forum Buzz)

Are we expecting the perm to come back in style any time soon? Because it looks like the teams over at Giuseppe Zanotti and Iceberg are priming themselves to be on the edge of the resurgence. Both companies feature models with shoulder-length puffy curly hair with bangs in their ad campaigns this season.

Anja Rubik’s hair in the Giuseppe Zanotti campaign didn’t go over so well in the forums. “What’s with the hair?” asked ALAUU. “It’s like the blonde version of Flashdance. It doesn’t look good though,” mikel posted.

Da Vinci wrote, “I love Anja but I am not fond of this. I don’t like the hair, she looks like a poodle.” Brigittebardot agreed that the style didn’t flatter the model. “I have to say that Anja looks really bad in curly hair, it doesn’t suit her at all!” she exclaimed. “But I think she can show the shoes very well, her poses are ideal.”

Elfkinova liked the campaign overall, but the hair was a sticking point. “I would’ve appreciated this if it weren’t for the hair, although I don’t completely dislike it. I like the 70s vibe it gives off with the furniture and fur rug.”

The Iceberg ad campaign fared a bit better in terms of criticism. In fact, there were no harsh words about the hair that looked essentially the same as that in the Giuseppe Zanotti campaign. Perhaps model Malgosia Bela’s (no offense to Anja) ability to look good in anything and any style transcended the inherent badness of the hairstyle.

“Only Malgosia… can pull off this hair,” judelove asserted. ParisFashionMuse posted, “I love it. Malgosia looks divine.”

MON called the campaign, “Beautiful! Effortless beauty from Malgosia. Simple yet very effective.”

Funny how the hair in one campaign brought out universally negative commentary and the same hair in another campaign barely registered. I’m not crazy about the way it looks in either. I’m getting some unwelcome flashbacks of Kate Hudson’s 2001 Stella McCartney Oscar look and I’d rather leave that memory in the past. It was bad then and it’s bad now. Am I wrong?
