Though forum members were anxiously waiting to see what Anja Rubik’s wedding dress would look like when she walked down the aisle to marry fellow model Sasha Knezevic, pictures of the bride’s attire unfortunately failed to live up to expectations. I hate to put down a bride on her wedding day, but Anja certainly had the potential to look better and her Peter Dundas-designed dress was a too-trendy fashion failure.
The nuptials were held on the Spanish island of Mallorca, and maybe it was the heat, but Anja’s hair was just messy enough for her to look disheveled. The upper portion of her gown featured a lovely bodice but forum members couldn’t get over the scroll-down disappointment of her asymmetrical mullet-style high-low skirt length that showed off a pair of not-so-great shoes. “I am disappointed. Awful dress, bad shoes, hair and makeup are nothing special,” wrote avoocadoo.
OlgaMaria expected more from the bride. “I’m sorry but this dress rather belongs to rushed wedding in Las Vegas than to a regular religious ceremony. It’s kind of a weird and lazy choice considering how stylish Anja normally is,” she posted.
AlonsoJonathan had a few gripes about Anja’s look but in the end he can forgive her anything, especially on her wedding day. “Well first of all,” he wrote. “Congrats Anja and Sasha! Second, c’mon baby you work in this industry and you show up [in those shoes and that dress]? Third, I don’t care, it’s your wedding and I will always love you.”
Melly5525 (and a few others) actually liked Anja’s wedding outfit. “I think she looks quite beautiful at the wedding,” she posted. “I like the dress, it’s different but still very elegant with the lace on top, and I think the shoes are chic, and they look just so happy.”
Whatever your opinion is of the bride’s ensemble, the wedding in Mallorca appeared to be a beautiful, romantic, sun-dappled affair and the couple looked thrilled to be making their union official. The Fashion Spot offers their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the happy newlyweds!
