Michael Pitt Awkwardly Poses for Prada Menswear (Forum Buzz)

David Sims photographed actor Michael Pitt for Prada’s menswear campaign in what Luuk Magazine described as “a series of performative portraits.” The portraits may be performative, which makes sense seeing as Pitt is an actor, but Fashion Spot forum members found them to be unappealing.

“The pictures are awful, what’s up with his expressions?!” asked kokobombon. “It’s a nice concept poorly executed; can’t believe it’s shot by Sims,” she added.

ALAUU seemed unsurprised by Prada’s choice of model. “They always choose weird actors to front their Prada menswear campaigns,” she quipped.

TeeVanity wrote, “I like Michael Pitt, but I am sorry I don’t like this campaign. This should be more for an editorial or something of that sort.”

I’m just not feeling this. My first thought is that Michael Pitt looks like Leonardo DiCaprio in Revolutionary Road, and my second thought is that he looks embarrassed to be wearing this Prada collection. Not good. In the spirit of full disclosure though, I’ve never found Michael Pitt to be all that appealing. I would say that makes me biased, but as the comments above prove, I’m not the only one who doesn’t like what I see here.
